Doc's Town Heritage Village

Doc's Town is now closed for the season. See you in 2024!

Doc's Town Heritage Village is located in Kinetic Exhibition Park in Swift Current. It consists of eight heritage buildings (blacksmith shop, church, one-room school, McLachie house, community hall, portable train station, elevator, airmen's barracks) and three modern buildings constructed with heritage features. Each building contains exhibits and collection items that relate to its original use and look. The buildings have come from various places in the southwest, including Leinan, Tuberose and Swift Current.

The collection of heritage buildings begun by “Doc” Burton Allen has been in operation since 1981.  Managed by a volunteer Board of Directors, Doc’s Town keeps our prairie past alive.

Summer programming includes events such as line dancing, cowboy poetry, hymn singing, family photo scavenger hunt, quilt shows, and more, with the highlight of the summer being the Antique Tractor, Classic Car Display and Hammer-In.

Doc’s Town Statement of Purpose: Doc’s Town Heritage Village shall collect, preserve, interpret and exhibit buildings and objects associated with the early years of Swift Current and district, as a public trust, under the authority of Swift Current Agricultural and Exhibition Association.
